You're out in a park doing a story hour for around 120 people.
Scary thought? I guess. At one point I was standing there saying what the hell am I doing out here SINGING in front of all those folks. My own chutzpah amazes even me some times....
And just as you're about to start another story, one of those lovely parks department workers pulls a big truck up the nearby path (that alone distracts the kids), gets out, and demands you move your car because it's blocking his truck!
So you have to leave those 120 people hanging while you pull your car out and move it elsewhere.
And then you go back and resume your program.
Just another day in the tranquil, ordered life of a librarian.
