I haven't been doing these posts for the last few weeks, since other things were on my mind.
But despite unexpected traveling, computer problems (let's just say I've temporarily repossessed my old lap top, the one I gave SC last winter) and ballet recital stress (mine was probably worse than the kids), I've managed (mostly) to stay on Weight Watchers.
De asked me sometime back about meetings. Nope, I do it all on-line. I am just not the go-to-meeting type in general, and where would I find the time anyway?
I use Weight Watchers points system. There is NOTHING that you are forbidden to eat. All foods have a points value--not just based on calories but on fiber and fat. If you've got a recipe of your own, you can use their "Recipe Builder" to figure out the points value--and they have some pretty good recipes of their own, BTW.
I keep track on line of what I eat, based on the number of points I am allowed. You also get some extra points to spread around each week. Some weeks I haven't used them at all. Others, especially when I was traveling, I did.
And either way, I have kept losing weight.
I am now down 14 pounds since April 1. Another pound and I will be at one of the goals Weight Watcher suggests--which is to lose 10 percent of your body weight.
My BMI is now in the "normal" range. I am wearing shirts tucked into my pants--and liking the way it looks. I am wearing some of the shirts that are now in fashion that I love because they are perfect with my high waist, but that I hesitated to buy because I was afraid someone might think they were maternity shirts!
I expect that the next time I'm at the doctor's office my blood pressure will be a lot lower, and that he may decrease the dosage on my thyroid medicine. I might even be daring enough to ASK him to run a cholesterol check--something I always dread.
I've done this slowly and not many people are noticing the difference.
(But both my mother and my sister-in-law saw it immediately.)
And I'M noticing the difference. That's the most important part of the whole thing.
