I love Charlotte's Web , but kids should also meet Louis the mute swan who gains a voice and a love. And if you liked Make Way For Ducklings (another favorite of mine) you'll recognize one of the settings......
The Wind in the Willows

Not a young child's book at all,but a beautifully written book about friendship, greed, self centeredness and love.
The best illustrations are by Ernest Shepherd. He was also the first (and only REAL!) illustrator of Winnie the Pooh!

Think he's going to Disneyworld with his kids to celebrate?
Well, at least the African American men in prisons across America can celebrate. O.J., Kobe and Michael have all gotten off, so there clearly is justice for the black man in America.
Justice that is, as long as you're an incredibly wealthy celebrity!
Or, as I pointed out tonight on someone else's blog, if Michael Jackson had stayed and grown up in Gary, Indiana and was a plumber or something, and the neighbors found out he was having sleepovers with teenage boys, I wager his caggy tuchus would have been rotting in jail a looooooooong time ago!
But he didn't and he's out, free as a little birdie. And as far as I'm concerned any parent who, after all of this, is willing to risk their child's safety because of Jackson's wealth and celebrity is a totally unfit parent.
Much like Michael Jackson himself. I shudder to think what will happen to those kids of his...................................
