JR is over her bout with the virus, but:
SC developed pinkeye on Sunday. We went to the doctor on Monday, but the medication doesn't seem to be helping.
My parents were supposed to be coming here on Friday and going home on Saturday so my mother could visit her best friend. She's in the hospital in D.C.--probably with ovarian cancer. They canceled out for that, but decided to come down today instead. Monday and Tuesday we spent time cleaning things up in the house. And our cleaners came Tuesday afternoon, so the house looks pretty good, considering what a mess it is in general. So what happens last night?
SC comes down with a high fever. Probably the same thing JR had, though strep is a possibility as well.
My parents are on their way down, but obviously they can't come to the house. I am going to chauffeur them from the hospital to their hotel, and back to the hospital tomorrow. And that's probably it.
All this, and we're heading for our much awaited yearly vacation to Chincoteague Island on Saturday. That is, if SC gets over what she has, neither the Man or I come down with it, and nothing else happens!!
And as I say that, I find myself saying kayn aynhoreh (literally "no evil eye), the Yiddish expression when making such a statement.
Because around our house, anything can happen in August. And usually does....
