Back from a week at the beach.
The girls are sleeping in--we got in about 10 last night, and I am going to let them rest, and enjoy the brief period of quiet. I even had time to take a shower and do something about my normally curly hair that always frizzes, but at the beach goes POOOF!
Meanwhile, The Man(who likes my hair when it gets wild, BTW),has gone to clean out whatever is left in the car so I can take it and get it washed and cleaned--it's full of sand of course--and run my usual Sunday errands. He also wants to prowl at the condo dump--sometimes on weekends he finds amazing stuff that we use or pass on to other people. I just hope he doesn't find any more BOOKS!
The cats are apparently calming down this morning. Our girl cat will have nothing to do with our cat sitters, who were her caregivers when she was a rescued stray. They had to chase her out from under our bed to make sure she was okay, but when we came home last night she was waiting at the door and she hopped up on the bed last night to rub against us and purr a great deal. She's just a one family cat, I guess. Our boy cat likes the sitters--he is a pure snuggler and always comes out to be petted, but he was happy to see us too, he came into the bathroom with me last night, flopped down by my feet and purred madly!
So we are home. We had a very good time overall--more about that later. I planned on writing stuff down at the beach and then transcribing it here, but never got around to it.
You know, with PEN and PAPER--those things? I hope you know. I know I'm aging because one of the pages at work got me to show her how to use the electric typewriter--she figured I'd be old enough to know. Heck, I remember MANUAL typewriters--I learned how to type on my grandma's old portable!
At any rate, I am back, thankfully no heavier --despite a whole lot of ice cream, seafood and other good eats-- and miraculously without getting unsunburned!
The girls have inherited enough Filipino genes from the manto protect them even without the sunscreen I use. JR is so tan after a summer in camp that you can see the lines of her Little Mermaid bikini, and SC has tanned even with limited exposure, but I am lacking in what a dear African American lady in Macy's referred to as "melatonin"(melanin). In other words, I am pale enough to burn before I tan,and do so if not careful, especially my poor feet. Never, never, let your feet get sunburn--it's not a pretty thing, especially with feet as big as mine!!!!
Two more days, and then it's back to work. I can feel my fall schedule closing in already and I swear my alarm clock is smirking at me........
