I am off for the beginning of the semi-annual consignment sale season. I hope to find my girls lots of good things, though it is getting harder. SC just doesn't have the figure for a lot of the older girls things and she is not into fussy clothes. Plus there's less out there in her size range. JR is easier and she wants lots of dresses--I just hope to pick things she will actually WEAR!
I am going armed with a Walkman to drown out the assinine SAHM conversations and the cries of small children who are NOT supposed to be at the consigners sale, but will be brought by all those twits whose husbands are not willing to "babysit".
"Babysit"??????????
Excuse me, but aren't those fathers parents too? It isn't possible for them to take care of their kids for a few hours so Mom can go clothes shopping?
No way, for those lovely beer drinking, SUV driving, football watching , Republican voting prizes. Their wives have to be mommies 24/7. That's their God given duty, I suppose.
As my working for a living, raising her kids single handed grandma would've said:
OYYYYYYY!
Thank heavens for the Man. He doesn't "babysit", he is the girls other PARENT, and he is fully capable of caring for them when consignment sale season, or any other reason for me to run errands arrives. And it does.
What do those moms do in an emergency? When my dad was sick the Man had to take care of the girls for a WEEK on his own. They were fine. I missed them, but I could be there to help my mother and know they were in safe hands.
Anyway, off I go, on my own. I might even get to eat a meal out, all by myself. Sheer luxury................
