Well said. I couldn't agree with that statement more.

Palin crammed really well for an oral exam, but does she have any practical knowledge of her answers? More importantly, when not reciting rehearsed lines, can she think on her feet? The Couric interview would suggest not.
left by: Scott

Sarah Has Spoken

Billy, ''boychik'', how about the lies Bush and Co have told, starting with the weapons of mass destruction bullshit and going on from there? If you want to throw stones, I've got some nice little boulders on tap.
Biden may have been inaccurate at times, but he certainly knows that the general's name isn't "McClellan" unless you're discussing the Civil War and he also knows the difference between "Main Street" and "Wall Street" in terms of who's effected whom. Of course, as Maggie points out, he wasn't reading HIS facts and "talking points" off of cue cards.

Shea, I want a woman president too. Or an African American, or an Asian or a Jewish or an ____fill in the blank with your favorite dream.
But what I want above all is a president who is intelligent, well educated and has sound judgement. And Sarah Palin definitely doesn't qualify on 2 out of 3 of those--I'll reserve judgement on her IQ because she hasn't been given the chance to display it in this campaign.

Me, "kind"? Beth, sweetie, you should know better than that. :D
Seriously, I WAS going to ''kvetch'' about Trig being up so late and how I think that's a doll on her shoulder, not a real baby. (Has anyone ever seen his FACE?)And if he is a real kid, his arms were so limp that either he's got more physical problems than they're letting on, or he was fast asleep.
But I decided that I should save rants about Palin's parenting skills for a parenting related posting. And after last night's experience at the Big Apple Circus, I think I've got a lulu coming up.....
left by: LibraryLady

Sarah Has Spoken

great post and analysis! I came up with it discussing the debate with two colleagues this morning.

One is a tried and true Republican, but she is voting for the Democrats this time. Her reason is that Palin cut library budgets in Alaska, and as a newly minted (at the age of 55) librarian who has worked for 34 years in libraries, she can't countenance that!
Her comment "Well, neither of them said anything last night to change MY vote"

(We also have a personal reason to dislike John McCain around here--namely a family member of his. But I'll save that until, all things willing, the McCain/Palin nightmare ends in November..)
left by: LibraryLady
